Events and programs
In addition to our core activity of gathering on Shabbat to daven and schmooze afterwards at kiddush, Minyan members create, facilitate, host, and participate in multiple educational and fun activities throughout the year.
Here are some examples of recent Walnut Street Minyan events:
Moth Night
Members tell short stories based on true personal experiences, following the Moth Radio Hour tradition.
Potluck meals
Members host other members, and everyone contributes to the meal.
Mushrooming and other walks
Knowledgeable members conduct tours of local nature spots and neighborhoods.
Sunday night talks
Authors and other experts share their insights and engage in lively discussion.
Pub nights
Designated "publicans" host themed evenings of fun on Zoom.
There are more activities where those came from. Notably, the Minyan initiated some of these on Zoom in response to COVID, as the situation called for. We have now returned to live programming, and with the move to our new home, we expect to add a variety of additional weekday activities.
